Staff Qualifications & Supervision
Our Camp Counselors are responsible for guiding and assisting our campers through their daily camp experience. Specific duties include
Monitoring the health & safety of our campers
Supervising our campers as they move through scheduled daily activities
Organizing and leading games and activities
Promoting safe participation and exploration
Enforcing camp rules, conduct and manage behavior problems
Preparing facilities for daily activities and cleanup facilities at day’s end
Assisting with planning of weekly and daily activities and camp program evaluations
Supervising extended care activities as scheduled
70% of our Counselors are college students and have either a background in engineering or flying RC Airplanes.
All of our Camp Counselors have completed a comprehensive background check, have been finger printed and has prevous experience working with children. We have 1 counselor per 5 campers per Maryland State Law for children ages 6-15 yrs. old. Seats are limited at Camp Aerospace Maryland. We are allowing no more than 30 campers per session and we have 6 counselors on staff per session. Our Summer Camp Director, Instructor(s), Counselors are CPR, AED, Infant & First Aide Certified.
Our Camp is an "Anti-Bully" Zone

Camper Health & Safety
Our Campers Health & Safety is a major concern to us
All Campers should bring their daily lunch. We will provide Afternoon Healthy Snacks, Water & Beverages. If your child has food allergies like Peanuts, Wheat, Fruits, Milk, etc.. please let us know, so that we will be aware. We would like to suggest that you call us, so that we can discuss in further detail at (410) 541-6791. Each session the campers will choose as a group, whether they would like to have a Friday Cook Out or have a Pizza Friday!
So that everyone is safe at Camp Aerospace Maryland, all campers must include a Current Immunization Record as a part of their Registration for Camp Aerospace Maeyland. No child will be able to attend camp, without a copy of their Immunization Record supplied via their Physician or School.
If your child has meds that he or she must take daily we can store & lock them up at camp. All medications must have their prescritption on the bottle. If meds need to be refrigerated under lock & Key this is also an option available to you. We can not administer any injectable meds.
Illness/ Accident at Camp
If you child becomes Sick or have an Accident at Camp, we will consult with our Camp Health Director and Notify The Parent immediately. If hospitalization is required, per The Health Director, we will contact 911 and then contact The Parent. The child will be taken to the nearest hospital for consultation & treatment. The Camp Director will accompany the child to the hospital. Parent(s) should come immediately to hospital once notified. If you have a preferred hospital preferance it must be put in writting to the Director of Camp Aerospace Maryland.
All camp activies are safe and supervised. All examples & demonstrations are performed by the Instructor(s) first. All model building, airplane construction and flying activities are done with the assistance of Instructor(s) & Counselors.
Camp Aerospace Maryland is a fun filled hands on Summer STEM Day Camp, our campers discover aviation through fun activities, via various aeronautical flying tools. We believe in working in groups and on teams that are age appropriate and put together via the Instructor and Camp Director.

Parent Visitation During Camp
Parents may stop by camp and visit at anytime.
Exclusively for parental and camper contact only. Campers may bring their Cell Phones to Summer Camp, but may only be used during Lunch & Snack Times. Otherwise, it can be a great distraction in camp with other kids and activities. Parents may call their children directly and vice versa between 11:30 - 12:30pm (Lunch) and 3:15pm - 3:30pm (Snack Time). Campers are not allowed to take pictures and post to Internet/ Social Media.

Photos and Videos are posted daily for your viewing & enjoyment on this site in a secured area that requires a password code. This code will be provided to you after registration. If you prefer your child not be photographed, please let us know.
Hand Held Games
No Hand Held Games are permitted at Camp Aerospace Maryland Summer Day Camp.
Camp Expectations & Behaviors
Camp Aerospace Mayland Hours are from 8:30am - 4:30pm. Camp starts promptly at 8:30am. Morning Drop Off for camp is in front of the camp building location in the round about on the Maryland State Fairgrounds, between 8:00am - 8:20am. Two camp counselor will be standing there for you to sign your child into camp, and to walk with the campers into the building for their daily activities. Afternoon, Evening & Extended Day Pick Up is in the same location and you must sign your child out of camp at thst time.
Extended Care is available 7:30am - 8:30am and after camp from 4:30pm - 5:30pm for campers. Supervision of your child is provided for a flat fee for the week and is the same whether you use all or part of the time; every day or only on some days. Please Note: There is plenty of free parking, and Camp Aerospace Maryland is not responsible for parking violatinon fees. It is suggested that you call ahead of time and let us know the time you are picking up you child and we will bring them to you in the round about drop off and pick up area. The building location will be givene to you at the time of completed registration.
